New Entra Casa -- $50,000
New Entra Casa's Residential Perinatal Program

Program Description:

Grant funding was awarded to support New Entra Casa’s Residential Perinatal Program, providing pregnant and parenting women suffering from substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders with comprehensive education and counseling services to address the underlying causes of addiction and support family stability, health, and well-being.

Specific project objectives were to provide: 1) shelter and services to an anticipated 6-25 women; 2) at least 10 hours of group therapy sessions focused on life skills topics for each client; 3) at least 10 hours of group therapy sessions focused on clinical/educational topics for each client; 4) at least one individual counseling session provided weekly for each client.

Results:

Of the 19 residential services program graduates,

  • 92% transitioned to a lower level of care (sober living and/or outpatient treatment).
  • 78% have a support system in place and are involved with a sober support network.
  • 82% report being substance-free after one year
  • 90% working with either probation or parole & have reduced risk of incarceration

Future Plans:

New Entra Casa’s goal over the next five years is to continue diversifying revenue sources and building relationships with new and existing funders to ensure sustainability and serve as many women in the community as New Entra Casa can. It hopes to offer additional treatments focused on supporting women in coping with their trauma (equestrian therapy & brain-mapping ideas).
